Introduction: Acquired generalized lipodystrophies (AGL) are rare syndromes characterized by complete loss of subcutaneous adipose tissue and very low serum leptin levels. AGL are complicated by severe insulin resistance, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia and fatty liver.
